These next seven days will be filled with little recipes bursting with lots of flavor, recipe and restaurant reviews, super simple and pretty cocktails and they all have one thing in common, BLUEBERRIES!
I LOVE blueberries! I love the color, the snap when biting into one, the texture, the sweetness, and I almost want to say they clean the palette too! I could eat blueberries day after day and in so many ways. I eat so many, I’m surprised my mouths isn’t stained. 😛
That brings me to this book I read. Lets take a moment and adventure to the land of More Blueberry! by Susan Musgrave. This childrens book is adorable, simply put. Its about two siblings who eat so many blueberries they end up turning their face and hands blue. It’s really cute.
Blueberries are CRAZY good for your body, mental health and tummy! The iron, phosphorous, calcium, magnesium, manganese, zinc and vitamin K in blueberries all contribute to building and maintaining bone structure and strength. Blueberries are naturally free of sodium and contain potassium, calcium, and magnesium, all of which have been found to decrease blood pressure naturally. The blueberry’s fiber, potassium, folate, vitamin C, vitamin B6 and phytonutrient content, coupled with its lack of cholesterol, all support heart health. The fiber in blueberries helps lower the total amount of cholesterol in the blood and decrease the risk of heart disease. Blueberries also contain folate, which plays a role in DNA synthesis and repair, thus preventing the formation of cancer cells from mutations in the DNA. Blueberries can even reduce the risk of cognitive decline as well as Parkinson’s disease. Crazy right?!
These little suckers back a punch for your health, and taste buds hehe So grab a few pints and settle in for the next few days. It’s going to be full of fun, quick, easy, and tasty treats!!
